Summer Season in full swing

Athletics:

A huge congratulations to Emma Blanch and Kai Hammond who did us all proud at the national athletics championships last weekend.
Emma won the U16 race walk in a massive PB, whilst Kai placed 8th in the 3000m run also in a big PB. 


Running:

Ali Najem took out the Smithfield Road race series half marathon.

All the best to Eloise Wellings who runs in the Zatopek 10km this Thursday!


Surf Lifesaving:

The surf season got underway with the North Cronulla Carnival. It was a great way to get into the swing of things for our athletes as they build towards state and Aussie titles in the new year. Here are some of the highlights:

2km beach run:

Ali Najem 1st open men's
Kai Hammond 2nd open men's
Lachie Crawford 3rd open men's
Dee McCarthy 1st in agegroup

1km relay:

Ali Najem & Kai Hammond 1st male
Jess Phelps & Tilly Handforth 1st female

Sprints:

Greer Calabro - 1st open womens
Jesse Thus - 3rd open mens


Cricket:

Congratulations to the Sutherland First Grade side who have made it through to the Sydney Premier Cricket 20/20 finals day at the SCG. Several JA athletes will be taking the field hoping to bring the club some christmas silverware this weekend! Good luck to big quick Tom Pinson and the rest of the boys!
